University of Wisconsin-Madison
Student Judicial Advisors was founded in 2022 as a resource for students to reach out to for help and guidance when accused of violating the University's code of conduct. SJA strives to close this gap between university and students.
Our advocates are made up of fellow UW-Madison students who are passionate about offering support and helping others navigate the challenges of the misconduct process.
As student advocates our job is to educate students on their rights, advise students before or in their misconduct hearings, and engage in discussions with the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards for new ways to reform the disciplinary process.
SJA can help with a variety of accused misconduct. The following lists serve as a guide but is not exhaustive. Students are encouraged to submit an intake form even if their incident does not align precisely with the outlined guidelines. The VP of Intake reserves the right to exercise discretion based on individual case circumstances.
Such as underage drinking, alcohol consumption on University property (drinking in the dorms, stadiums, Unions, etc), covid violations, “false statements” to University officials, marijuana possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At this time we are not able to accept cases of academic misconduct.
